The Ares

Thank you very much to everyone who commented on and ed this piece!

This image looks OK on my screen, but the color intensity, brightness and overall balance varies somewhat on the screens I have viewed this image on. Please keep that in mind when commenting!

It is pretty much a signature shot for the U.S.S. Ares (as per the original created by Tobias Richter from "Prelude to Axanar"), but I just had to do it once I got my hands on this excellent Lightwave conversion. If you have time, go check out Axanar Productions  and The Light Works.

COMPOSITION: The entire scene was setup and rendered in Lightwave. I made my own geometry and texture modifications to the Ares model (addtl. position lights, texture changes, bussard changes, addtl. lights by the shuttle bay as per the original etc.), planet is also my own work incl. 16k textures. Post work via Photoshop and After Effects.
