Description
This piece was inspired by the third and fourth Star Trek movie when Kirk escaped the Genesis planet in a captured Klingon "Bird of Prey". Call it my impression of the landing on the planet Vulcan.
The background was rendered with Terragen (took me quite some time to get the atmospheric settings right). The picture was then composed and rendered in LW before I took it into PS to add details like glow effects and the likes.

Original Resolution: 1500x800 (after update).
Updated Apr 2011.
Worked image over, updated with a few additions in PS - things I learned since. Added some blendings, updated grain, changed saturation slightly, removed title, changed frame etc.

I loved that movie. They renamed her "The Bounty" if I'm not mistaken.
