In the late 2350s, the U.S.S. Horatio, NCC-10532, under the command of Captain Walker Keel, surveys a planet in the outskirts of the Alpha Quadrant. This ship has gotten far too little attention for my taste!
It was destroyed near Dytallix B in Sector 63 around stardate 41776 (2364). Her first officer was suspected to be under the influence of an alien parasite and caused an implosion that destroyed the ship. -- Season 1, TNG ("Conspiracy").

I agree with you. I'd love to see something like that. In fact I hope someone reads this! Somewhere between the 2330s and 2350s would be nice. Just after Picard became Captain and just before the Galaxy-class was being designed and build (around 2345).
Doesn't have to be about Picard in his younger years. How about a show about the Enterprise-C under Captain Rachel Garret? Or even the Horatio. I'd love a show that is based more on exploration again. Especially now that CGI doesn't provide any limits anymore.
