This is a model of a Space Nebula
I've created, mainly for use with animations, as static backgrounds do not work.
It is essentially only a curved plane with a trexture, but if used as a backdrop it will create the illusion of three dimensionality, due to the transparency map.
You can DOWNLOAD
an archive with the nebula to the right
which contains the textured mesh (.lwo format) and a scene file (.lws) format, that has the mesh setup with a starfield. The starfield is a textured environment and only shows when you render. I will put a tutorial up on how to create this shortly.
