Since I spent a good two hours creating and fine tuning the slipstream model yesterday, I thought I give it another chance to shine. Albeit as transwarp conduit.

Based on the 5th season STVOY episodes "Dark Frontier". The Deltaflyer is trying to excape Unimatrix 01 closely pursued by the Borg Queen's diamond ship.

Background: Transwarp conduit is my work. Created in LW losely based on a tutorial by Ed Giddings which I have adapted for a newer version of LW and modified to match colors/size better.

Meshes: Deltaflyer by Ed Giddings, Queen's Diamond by Magma.

Composition: Scene and lighting setup in LW, final composition in PS. Final modifications such as glows, blurs, shield, torpedoes etc. done in PS. Added slight blue-ish tinge and grain for TV effect.

Original size: 1920x1200, including frame.

Total time approx. 5 hours incl. render time and 71 layers in PS.

I liked how you created the Transwarp Conduit along with the Borg Diamond firing torpedoes at the shuttle! I understand why you added a "slight blue-ish tinge and grain for TV effect" but, I believe you might not want to have as much "blurring" for traveling in the Transwarp Conduit next time. I did really enjoy your work!

Well, you might be right. I merely added the blurring to create depth more than anything, but sure, I will keep your suggestion in mind. CErtainly worth playing with it. Mabye I will work it over at some point!

Don't think there's be a new TNG movie in due course; especially not since JJ Abrams took over. As for the Borg, I think we've seen and know quite enough about them! ;)

Essentially they're the same effect in a different color spectrum, but which is preferred depends on personal taste. ;)
