That ship's absolutely amazing. I enjoy the shading work you've put in it. It looks fantastic.

I can't wait until I can get this good in 3D...

However, only a relatively small amount is actually 3D work. The ship was rendered with several different lighting setups and then it was composed together in Photosop. Ive setup a small image to show three of the main renders I did before postwork. They were all overlayed with different settings and then I erased parts I didn't want before applying further effects. It's quite a time consuming process and requires a lot of patience, but it's worth it.

It's not so difficult if you do animation, because the motion takes away a lot of detail attention, but a single frame just requires that sort of work in my opinion.
