A Hunter's Mission by overseer A Hunter's Mission by overseer
I thought I do something else for a change. I re-watched the Star Wars movies recently and that got a few ideas in my head.

This one depicts Jango Fett in Slave One leaving (my version of) the water world of Kamino, the place were the Clone Army was created, on route to Coruscant where he will prepare the - eventually failing - assassination of Padme Amidala.

Some technical information:

---

Background: Starfield created in PS. Water planet also created in PS based on a sea photograph adapted with several blending/glow effects.

Meshes: Slave One by A. Wiro, LW conversion by P. Herrmann, texture adaption to match Jango Fett's Slave One by me.

Composition: Created background picture. Scene, lighting setup and rendering in LW. Composed final piece in PS. All effects, glows, motions blur etc. PS.

Total time approx. 6 hours of which 1 hour render time (tests incl.). 19 layers in PS.

Original resolution: 1920x1350.

THANK YOU.
Seriously, there are no good references for either ship on DA- this is immensely helpful.

Well, in that case... you're welcome!

If you like I could throw together a front and side view of it?

im going to try and critique this as the best as i can:

my attempted critique:

When I first saw this i thought it was a delete scene from the Star Wars movie "Attack of the Clones" when Jango Fett escapes Obi-wan's arrest attempt before leading him to Geonosis, but then I read how you created this using Photoshop. its got its pros and cons in this, pros are i love the array of textures in the sea of waves and the array of colors in the sea as light hits it at the edge before the my eyes wonder to the stars and then Jango's ship. now the only con is Kamino looks very flat, what i mean the sea doesn't disappear and fade out as i would like it too to the end before it hits the starly night and clouds because it looks like i can jump into the sea below jango's ship it toos close of a view of the waves makes me feel like i'm a craft hovering a few feet over the sea waters.

But over all I really like this and wonder if it was okay with you if i used this for a Jango Fett journal Skin background and Photo Manipulate. I know how it goes for crediting the artist for the original artist, and i hope i didn't offend you with my critique, b/c your supposed to say yays and nays to something.

Thanks. It's fine and I agree. Just for once I tried a different approach as otherwise it would have yet again just been a globe in front of a starfield with a ship, so I thought pep it up slightly. Call it my version of Kamino. In fact, it probably has been influenced slightly by the "Star Trek Voyager" episode "30 Days" from the 5th season where they, too, encounter a water world, and my mental image of it. ;)

And sure, by all means, use it.

Thanks. I'm glad you like my artwork and found it good enough to use for something else and that you told me you used it. Looks neat.

But you know, in general it would be nice if you asked before you use something someone else has created (unless they have given permission in the description of their art that it's stock) and if you then also gave credit to the original creators of the artwork that you have used, especially as the Stormtrooper appears to be :iconretr0dud3:'s work.

The finished piece still has your own touch and blendings and effects regardless and it wouldn't devaluate the product in any way. If I use someone else's materials I give credit, too.

No worries, I'm not going to report you or anything, I just think perhaps for future reference it would be polite and a matter of courtesy. Hope you understand.
